Alexis Taylor Appointed Chief Global Policy Officer at IFPA to Lead Global Advocacy Efforts

With nearly two decades of experience in trade and agriculture policy, Alexis Taylor brings a strategic vision to strengthen the fresh produce and floral industry’s global influence

The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) has announced the appointment of Alexis Taylor as its Chief Global Policy Officer, marking a pivotal step in advancing the organization’s advocacy efforts.

Taylor, who has dedicated nearly 20 years to public service in trade and agriculture policy, will officially assume her role on February 18, bringing extensive experience from her time as Under Secretary of Trade & Foreign Agricultural Affairs (TFAA) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Taylor’s leadership comes at a crucial moment for the industry.

According to IFPA CEO Cathy Burns, the global socio-political landscape has shifted significantly following elections in over 70 countries last year, necessitating a strong, impactful voice for the fresh produce sector.

“Alexis’ leadership with us will begin at a very important time. Leveraging her almost 20 years of experience in government, trade, and agriculture, she will help develop and shape our global advocacy efforts to further grow our influence. I’m excited to welcome her to the IFPA team and collaborate with her to drive policy outcomes that will benefit our members and global community.”

In her new position, Taylor will oversee IFPA’s global public policy agenda and lead its Government Relations team, which has seen significant growth since the organization’s launch in 2022.

While her focus will be on enhancing the industry’s global influence, U.S. domestic policy initiatives will remain under the direction of Rebeckah Adcock, Vice President of U.S. Government Relations.

Adcock’s responsibilities include managing domestic policies, grassroots efforts, and IFPA’s Political Action Committee, FreshPAC.

“I have dedicated my career to supporting agricultural producers and enhancing the competitiveness of the food and agricultural sectors in the global marketplace. I’m thrilled to join IFPA to lead the global public policy agenda for the association and the produce and floral industry. I look forward to collaborating with industry stakeholders, governments, and multilateral institutions to ensure a prosperous, sustainable future critical to growing consumption of fruits and vegetables around the world.”
