Taylor Farms and Foodiverse Acquire Bonduelle’s German Salad Business, Expanding Market Footprint

Strengthening Operations in Germany Under the Greenfresh Brand, the Partnership Aims to Drive Innovation and Enhance the Fresh Packaged Salad Sector

Taylor Farms and Foodiverse have officially completed their acquisition of Bonduelle Group’s salad operations in Germany, marking a significant milestone in the fresh and healthy food industry.

The deal, effective April 1, 2025, unites three key production sites under one corporate banner and is expected to enhance both companies’ presence in European markets.

Through this move, the businesses aim to expand their capabilities in ready-to-eat salads and maintain a stable transition for employees, strengthening their global reach in the process.

Foodiverse is set to manage all activities for the newly integrated operations.

This unified venture allows Foodiverse to bolster its footing in Germany and advance its innovation efforts.

With a history of producing a broad range of fresh and convenient products, the company already oversees multiple production plants and farmland across Europe.

Its expanded workforce, now reaching 2,650 employees, and the addition of the Straelen, Reutlingen, and Thurland sites under the single corporate brand Greenfresh underscore Foodiverse’s commitment to deliver an even greater variety of nutritious options throughout the region.

Taylor Farms, headquartered in Salinas, California, brings its longstanding expertise to the partnership.

Established as a leading North American producer of salads and other fresh foods, it offers a wide portfolio of products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

“By making this strategic acquisition, our goal is to enhance the fresh packaged salad sector and ensure our customers receive innovative and healthy products. We look forward to serving customers in Germany and across Europe.”

Bruce Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms

This new alignment is designed to capitalize on Taylor Farms’ emphasis on quality, food safety, sustainability, and research, while benefiting from Foodiverse’s established infrastructure and market knowledge in Europe.

Foodiverse’s influence in Germany is centered around its production site Thurländer Salate, recognized as a leader in private-label, ready-to-eat salads.

According to the company, this facility will combine with the newly acquired Straelen and Reutlingen locations to serve a broader clientele with healthy and accessible food offerings.

“The integration of these two plants into our group reinforces our commitment to growth in the healthy food sector. The combination of experience, top talent and our great capacity for innovation will allow us to continue to lead the fresh food sector and offer the best service to our customers throughout Europe.”

Joaquín Ballester, President of Foodiverse

Under the terms of the acquisition, the workforce in Germany will remain stable, and an international Foodiverse team will guide a gradual integration so that production and operations continue seamlessly.

Both companies believe this careful process will allow them to optimize production lines, further expand product categories, and maintain consistent standards of quality.

In turn, consumers are expected to benefit from the merged expertise, receiving a steady supply of fresh salad options designed to promote healthier eating habits.

Beyond Germany, Foodiverse operates in Spain, Switzerland, and Italy, controlling the entire supply chain from seed selection to packaging.

That vertical integration model ensures traceability and food safety, key components that have helped the group cultivate trust among its European clientele.

Foodiverse also distributes a wide range of produce under private labels, in addition to its own brands Freshkia and Sun&Vegs, offering fresh ready-to-eat salads, fruits, vegetable snacks, and beverages.

This spectrum of goods, ranging from straight-from-the-field vegetables to convenient dishes, underlines the group’s mission of providing accessible, healthy alternatives throughout Europe.

Meanwhile, Taylor Farms continues to champion sustainability and innovation across its North American facilities.

Family owned and deeply invested in preserving quality from field to table, it has consistently pioneered new methods to improve efficiency and environmental responsibility.

With production sites spanning multiple countries, the company remains a key supplier of fresh salads, while also broadening into other value-added categories.
