Mastronardi Produce Launches Bahama Bombs at CPMA

At the recent CPMA, Mastronardi Produce, a fourth-generation, family-owned greenhouse grower, introduced Bahama Bombs, its latest addition to the Sunset Bombs product line.

This new product, a bright orange grape tomato on-the-vine named Bahama Bombs, is related to the popular Sugar Bombs variety. It boasts a sweet flavor and vibrant tropical hue, according to the company.

Mastronardi Produce launched this exciting new variety at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Innovations trade show in Tampa, Florida, before it made its way to store shelves in March.

Bahama Bombs are designed to meet the increasing consumer demand for high-flavor snacking options. With snacking tomatoes being a specialty of Mastronardi Produce, the company has a long history of driving category growth through innovation.

Dean Taylor, Vice President of Business Development at Mastronardi Produce Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm about the introduction of Bahama Bombs. “Sugar Bombs have been wildly successful since their launch in 2018; we’re confident that Bahama Bombs will bring excitement to the category” Taylor stated in a recent press release.

The introduction of Bahama Bombs at the CPMA Convention in Vancouver marks an important development in the produce industry, showcasing Mastronardi Produce’s commitment to innovation and quality.

As companies continue to innovate in this area, products like Bahama Bombs set new standards for responsibly produced and presented goods in the market.

With a substantial commitment to research and development, including over 1 million square feet of global trial space, Mastronardi Produce continuously explores new possibilities.

Approximately 500 promising new varieties are under trial at any given time, and Bahama Bombs was one of the varieties that performed exceedingly well.

Mastronardi Produce and its Sunset Bombs line have recently gained attention from major publications like The Wall Street Journal, which featured them in an article about “designer produce.”

Dean Taylor highlighted the role of longstanding partnerships and continuous investment in research and development as key factors setting Mastronardi Produce apart in the industry.
