National Mango Board Launches “Joy Ride” Mobile Food Truck Tour to Celebrate Peak Mango Season

Innovative Initiative to Bring Fresh Mango Experiences to Four U.S. Cities with Engaging On-Site Activities and Educational Opportunities

To celebrate the peak mango season, the National Mango Board has unveiled an exciting new initiative: a mobile experiential activation called “Joy Ride.” This innovative food truck tour aims to immerse consumers in the mango experience, bringing the joy of fresh mangos to four cities across the United States: Frisco, TX, Tallahassee, FL, Pensacola, FL, and Oxford, MS.

The “Joy Ride” tour is set to captivate audiences with a variety of on-site activities. Consumers will have the opportunity to enjoy a mango snack bar, take part in photo opportunities, and meet a memorable mango mascot. The food truck will visit high-traffic locations, including popular grocery stores and sporting events, ensuring maximum reach and engagement with the community.

Dan Spellman, the National Mango Board’s Director of Marketing

“We are thrilled to bring ‘Joy Ride’ to life and share the incredible taste and versatility of fresh mangos with consumers in a new and exciting way,” said Dan Spellman, the National Mango Board’s Director of Marketing. According to Spellman, the tour is designed to create unforgettable, fun experiences while educating participants on mangos’ nutritional benefits and inspiring them to get creative with mango recipes.

The tour kicks off in Frisco, TX, on August 24, making its first stop at Kroger and then visiting the Frisco Roughriders’ minor league baseball team stadium on August 25. From there, the mango food truck heads to Tallahassee, FL, with stops at Publix on September 1 and Florida State University for the Florida State vs. Boston College football game on September 2. The tour continues in Florida with a visit to Publix in Pensacola on September 4. The final leg of the tour takes place in Oxford, MS, with an on-campus event at Ole Miss on September 6, concluding with an Ole Miss vs. Middle Tennessee Game Day experience on September 7.

Mangos are not only delicious but also packed with vitamins and fiber, making them a nutritious addition to any diet. Each serving of mango, which is about ¾ cup, contains 70 calories and provides 50 percent of the daily value of vitamin C, 15 percent of the daily value of folate and copper, eight percent of the daily value of vitamins A and B6, and seven percent of the daily value of fiber.

The National Mango Board, supported by assessments from both domestic and imported fresh mangos, has a vision of making mangos a daily necessity in every U.S. household. This initiative, “Joy Ride,” aligns with their mission to drive awareness and consumption of mangos in the U.S. marketplace. As stated in their report, the board aims to transition mangos from an exotic fruit to a staple in American diets.

For those interested in getting a sneak peek at the mango “Joy Ride” food truck and seeing photos that showcase the versatility of mangos, further information can be found on the National Mango Board’s website.

This effort is part of the National Mango Board’s broader strategy to promote the benefits of mangos and encourage their daily consumption. By bringing the mango experience directly to consumers in a fun and interactive way, the “Joy Ride” tour is expected to leave a lasting impression and boost mango consumption across the country.
