Bob Lanter To Bring Decades of Experience as FPFC President

In a development that promises to usher in a new chapter in the history of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC), the organization has announced the appointment of Bob Lanter as its new President.

With nearly two decades under his belt in the public sector and non-profit industry, Lanter brings a rich repertoire of experience to the FPFC.

As reported by The Produce News, Lanter will officially take on his presidential role effective May 5th, 2024, but not before making a presence at the upcoming FPFC Expo on May 1st, where members will get a chance to meet their freshly-appointed leader.

California born and bred, Lanter hails from a solid career in the workforce development and job training sector.

He acquired eminence working for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration as a Federal Project Officer, garnishing his expertise with significant national exposure.

Prior to stepping into the FPFC, Lanter had an impactful stint as the Executive Director of the California Workforce Association. Here, he managed the workforce strategy and effectively implemented the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act for the state of California.

Lanter’s track record also includes a stellar performance as the Executive Director of the Contra Costa County Workforce Board.

He spearheaded large-scale projects and grants, led significant leaps in organizational revenue and membership, and masterminded the development of key legislation.

In addition to his hands-on experience in public administration, Lanter also owned and commanded a national consulting practice.

His team facilitated strategic organizational retreats, team-building meetings, and in-depth assessment projects for an array of government, non-profit, and workforce development entities at local, state, and national levels.

Highly sought after as a speaker, Lanter’s training curriculum and keynote addresses in multiple topics of workforce development have proven inspirational to thousands of industry professionals.

Lanter is well-educated in strategy and workforce matters, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations from California State University, East Bay. His mastery of facilitation strategies is backed by a Certified Master Facilitator credential from the Institute of Cultural Affairs.
