Comin’ In Hot: Retail Creativity Ignited

Florida retailers are invited to showcase their creative merchandising skills with bold flavor pairings for a chance to win a share of $5,000 in prizes and receive a free display kit during peak sweet corn season

Sunshine Sweet Corn Farmers of Florida has launched its second annual Comin’ In Hot merchandising display contest, offering $5,000 in prizes to retailers who create the most creative and effective displays featuring Florida-grown sweet corn.

This initiative, aimed at boosting retail sales and enhancing the overall shopping experience, coincides with the peak season for Florida sweet corn and is designed to showcase the product’s versatility, flavor, and appeal to consumers.

The contest invites retailers to submit photo entries between March 20 and May 20, with each display required to feature Sunshine Sweet Corn prominently and remain on exhibit for at least two weeks.

The competition encourages retailers to think outside the box by pairing sweet corn with bold, complementary flavors such as hot sauce, chili powder, cotija cheese, and cilantro.

The goal is to create eye-catching merchandising displays that not only draw customers in but also provide fresh meal ideas that highlight the unique taste and quality of the product.

Retailers who participate in the contest will have the opportunity to win a grand prize of $2,500, while second and third place will receive $1,000 and $500 respectively.

In addition, 10 honorable mentions will each be awarded $100.

These prizes are intended to incentivize creative retail strategies and recognize the efforts of businesses that successfully merge product presentation with effective cross-merchandising techniques.
