Seasonal Giveback and Fitness Campaigns Aim to Help Every Child Access Healthy Meals in 2025
Dole Food Company is renewing its collaboration with No Kid Hungry for a fifth consecutive year in 2025, continuing a partnership designed to tackle childhood hunger in the United States.
The two initiatives announced by the produce leader aim to supply nutritious food to kids nationwide while supporting No Kid Hungry’s goal of ending childhood hunger.
This alliance originated in the summer of 2020 when Dole joined forces with the national nonprofit to help feed the growing number of children facing hunger due to school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From now through January 2025, the company is inviting its millions of fresh fruit customers in December and January to scan the QR code on DOLE® Banana stickers or DOLE® Pineapple tags to donate, ensuring every child has a full plate for the holidays and throughout the year.
As stated in a press release, Dole is one of only a handful of national brands offering a seasonal giveback offer during this period.
“Every $1 can help connect a child with 10 healthy meals.”
Dole is also returning as the presenting sponsor of Get Fit for No Kid Hungry, a month-long effort in early 2025 that enlists top fitness and wellness experts in a fundraising challenge to promote healthier, more active lifestyles.
The company encourages its own influencer partners to inspire followers to join the campaign. “We feel privileged to be able to work with No Kid Hungry for a fifth consecutive year to help them battle childhood hunger and ensure that every child has the healthy food they need to develop and flourish – not just during the holidays but throughout the year,” said William Goldfield, Dole Food Company’s director of corporate communications.
“Addressing hunger and food insecurity for children is at the core of the Dole global mission of providing the tools and products to make the world a healthier place for all.”
“In addition to returning as presenting sponsor of Get Fit, which sets a healthy, active tone for 2025, we’re excited to be part of No Kid Hungry’s mission to fill the holiday plates of every child and promote healthy, balanced eating at the same time. It is a perfect way to kick-off the New Year!” added Goldfield.
“We are so grateful to be partnering with Dole for the fifth year,” said Allison Shuffield, managing director, corporate partnerships at Share Our Strength. “Their dedication to promoting health and well-being for all families makes them the perfect partner for helping to raise the critical funds and awareness needed to end childhood hunger.”
Several of Dole’s partner organizations will participate in the Get Fit initiative to help raise awareness and funds. Homemade, led by chef Joel Gamoran, is the world’s largest livestream cooking platform and community and will contribute through interactive cooking classes and initiatives.
SoHookd, a wellness platform for employers that addresses fitness, nutrition, and mental health, will also join in the effort. Dole is encouraging employees, social media followers, Dole Nutrition News subscribers, growers, retailers, and industry partners to participate.
The collaboration between No Kid Hungry and Dole has included at-retail promotions, nutrition education, and fundraising programs to help feed the nearly 14 million kids in the U.S. currently facing hunger.
