Grimmway Farms Recalls Organic Carrots Amid Safety Concerns

Recall affects domestic and international markets, with additional products pulled by partner companies.

Grimmway Farms has issued a voluntary recall of several varieties and brands of bagged organic whole and baby carrots due to potential safety concerns, according to the company’s recall announcement.

The recall, initiated on November 16, 2024, impacts products distributed to retail distribution centers across the United States, Puerto Rico, and several international markets. While these products should no longer be available in stores, consumers may still have them stored in their refrigerators or freezers.

The recall extends beyond domestic markets, affecting customers in Canada, Colombia, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.

Grimmway Farms has directly notified international customers about the recall and provided them with specific information regarding the affected products. Consumers and officials in these regions can find additional details in the company’s official recall statement.

The recall has also prompted other companies to issue their own recalls for products that may have been made with or repackaged from the recalled carrots. Among these are Fabalish Inc.’s Kickin’ Carrot Falafel Bites and several Whole Foods Market items, including Organic Carrot Sticks and Organic Carrots & Celery Sticks. These companies have taken action to ensure that their products are no longer available to consumers.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is actively investigating the situation to determine the cause and scope of the issue. Updates and further information will be made available as the investigation progresses.

Consumers who have purchased bagged organic carrots or related products should check their refrigerators and freezers to ensure they do not possess any items subject to the recall. Those with recalled products are advised to dispose of them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.
