Dr. Angela Fraser and Dr. Paul Lewis join IFPA to enhance food safety education, standards, and advocacy efforts.
The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) has bolstered its food safety efforts with the addition of two prominent experts to its team.
Dr. Angela Fraser has been appointed Vice President of Food Safety & Quality, and Dr. Paul Lewis has taken on the role of Vice President of Food Safety Standards and Regulatory Compliance.
This marks a significant step for IFPA as it enhances its capabilities in food safety education, technical support, regulatory compliance, and advocacy.
Dr. Fraser, previously a faculty member at Clemson University, brings over three decades of experience in food safety.
She began her career as an Environmental Health Specialist in Michigan, where she developed a deep interest in educational interventions grounded in scientific principles.
Her pursuit of a Ph.D. in Food Science from Michigan State University, completed in 1995, further solidified her expertise.
Following academic roles at North Carolina State University and Clemson University, Dr. Fraser now leads IFPA’s food safety training programs and technical outreach initiatives.

Dr. Lewis joins IFPA with nearly 20 years of regulatory and policy experience spanning both public and private sectors.
His prior roles include serving as Director of Policy and Advocacy for Seeds and Traits at Bayer Crop Science, as well as leadership positions at the USDA, EPA, and NIH.
Holding advanced degrees in Environmental Science and Policy, Public Administration, Plant Pathology, and Plant Science, Dr. Lewis will work closely with IFPA’s Government Relations team to ensure scientifically sound and practical food safety standards.

According to a press release from IFPA, these appointments reflect the organization’s commitment to supporting its members and advancing food safety standards across the fresh produce industry.
The International Fresh Produce Association is the largest and most diverse global organization serving the fresh produce and floral supply chain.
