Little Leaf Farms Expands Leafy Green Line with Sweet & Crispy Blend

Sustainable Agriculture Meets Flavor Innovation with the New Sweet & Crispy Blend

Little Leaf Farms, the leading brand of sustainably grown packaged lettuce in the United States, has introduced a new product to its line of leafy greens: the Sweet & Crispy blend.

Combining two popular varieties, Baby Crispy Green Leaf and Sweet Baby Butter Leaf, this blend offers a unique texture and flavor profile that is expected to delight salad enthusiasts across the country.

The Sweet & Crispy blend is now available in 4 oz. packages at an MSRP of $3.99, sold in grocery stores throughout the eastern U.S.

The new blend aims to provide the “best of both worlds,” according to Emily Voshell, Brand Manager at Little Leaf Farms.

“Sweet & Crispy combines the unmistakable crunch of Little Leaf Farms with a sweetness that will transform any salad or sandwich, all in one convenient pack,”

This launch reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering innovative products that cater to consumer preferences for fresh and versatile greens.

Little Leaf Farms employs cutting-edge practices in controlled environment agriculture (CEA) to grow all its leafy greens, including those featured in the Sweet & Crispy blend. Free from pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, these greens are grown using sunlight and captured rainwater, making them not only safe but also environmentally sustainable.

The company’s lettuce is harvested without human handling, ensuring that no washing is required before consumption. This hands-free process allows lettuce to move from greenhouse to grocery shelves within just 24 hours, maintaining optimal freshness.

The introduction of Sweet & Crispy coincides with significant growth at Little Leaf Farms’ McAdoo, Pennsylvania campus. The brand recently completed its third greenhouse at this location and has begun construction on a fourth, slated to open in the fall of 2025.

With these developments, Little Leaf Farms continues to hold its position as the largest leafy greens CEA campus in North America, spanning over 40 acres across its sites in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The upcoming expansion will add 10 more acres to its operations, further strengthening its capacity to meet increasing consumer demand.

In addition to its new blend, Little Leaf Farms continues to innovate within its Salad Kits line. The brand recently launched a Sesame Ginger variety that pairs Baby Crispy Green Leaf lettuce with Thai-seasoned wonton strips, sliced almonds, toasted quinoa, and sesame ginger dressing. These pre-packaged kits are designed to offer a convenient, flavor-packed meal option for consumers seeking fresh, ready-to-eat solutions.

As the fastest-growing packaged salad brand in the U.S., Little Leaf Farms serves over 7,000 grocery stores nationwide and is actively exploring new opportunities in the Midwest and Southeast regions. According to the brand, its mission is to make fresh, sustainably grown greens accessible to all while transforming traditional agricultural practices. Advanced greenhouse technology, hydroponic farming, and renewable energy sources are at the core of its approach, ensuring that its products are both eco-friendly and high-quality.
