Masser Family of Companies to Showcase Pennsylvania Potatoes at NYC Produce Show

Showcasing Side Delights® and Penn’s Own products, Masser Family of Companies highlights local farming innovation and collaboration at the 2024 NYC Produce Show.

The Masser Family of Companies (MFC) will bring Pennsylvania’s potato offerings to the spotlight at the NYC Produce Show, held at the Javits Center from December 10 to 12, 2024.

Together with the Pennsylvania Co-Operative Potato Growers, the companies will highlight the state’s rich variety of potatoes through a collaborative presence in booths #207 and #209.

The NYC Produce Show, organized by the Eastern Produce Council and Produce Business magazine, is a three-day event featuring a one-day trade show with over 400 exhibitors, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and regional industry tours.

The tours will showcase urban farms, foodservice distributors, local retailers, wholesalers, and unique eateries, offering attendees an in-depth look at the produce industry in the area.

At booth #207, MFC will exhibit a diverse selection of Side Delights® potatoes, including organic varieties, petites, and its innovative convenience product, Amazables!

These microwave-ready, oven-crisp potatoes are paired with custom sauces crafted by Litehouse®. Keystone Potato Products, a fresh-cut and dehydrated potato company under the Masser Family umbrella, will also present its Side Delights A Cut Above® line of fresh-cut and whole-peeled potatoes designed for retail and foodservice markets.

Adjacent to MFC’s booth, the Pennsylvania Co-Operative Potato Growers will showcase their recently updated Penn’s Own retail bags at booth #209. This joint participation reflects a shared commitment to advancing Pennsylvania’s potato industry.

“The collaboration between Masser Family of Companies and the Pennsylvania Co-Operative highlights our dedication to supporting local potato growers and providing consumers with farm-fresh products,”

Bob Meek, Chief Revenue Officer of MFC.

He added that Keystone Potato Products predominantly uses Pennsylvania-grown potatoes, helping to sustain local farming communities.

Collectively, MFC and the Pennsylvania Co-Operative represent a significant portion of the state’s potato industry. Their combined efforts aim to meet the needs of retailers, foodservice providers, and institutions in the Northeastern United States, offering packaging options for all market sizes.

Side Delights® products include bagged and bulk potatoes, potato kits, fresh-cut options, petite potatoes, and organic selections.

These products are designed to be both nutritious and economical, catering to a wide range of consumer preferences.

Founded in 1970 by Sterman Masser, the Masser Family of Companies has grown from a small operation in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, to a major player in the potato industry.

Today, MFC employs over 400 individuals across various sectors, including agriculture, logistics, and sales. It also operates as part of the Fresh Solutions Network, which exclusively supplies Side Delights® potatoes and onions, helping retailers grow their fresh produce categories.

This year’s NYC Produce Show promises to be an excellent opportunity for MFC and the Pennsylvania Co-Operative to connect with industry professionals and demonstrate their commitment to quality and innovation in the potato sector.
