Mucci Farms Expands Operations with Acquisition of Hacienda North Farms

Mucci Farms, a prominent grower and distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables, has revealed its acquisition of Hacienda North Farms, a 159-acre greenhouse facility in Coatsworth, Ontario.

This strategic move, effective from May 22, 2024, signifies a substantial expansion for Mucci Farms. The company aims to improve its capacity to supply retail partners with top-quality produce.

Hacienda North Farms has been a trusted partner of Mucci Farms for nearly a decade, specializing in bell pepper cultivation.

By acquiring this state-of-the-art facility, Mucci Farms strengthens its greenhouse footprint, aligning with its commitment to delivering top-tier produce.

Bert Mucci, CEO of Mucci Farms.

“Working directly with Hacienda Farms for several years has given us insight into the facilities and the quality product that’s grown there,” said Bert Mucci, CEO of Mucci Farms.

“Bringing them into our fold presents an exciting opportunity to further enhance our ability to meet the needs of our retail partners.”

This acquisition is part of the broader growth strategy of Cox Farms, the newly launched business that includes Mucci Farms. Steven Bradley, president of Cox Farms, emphasized the importance of this expansion.

“This is a pivotal moment in the Cox Farms and Mucci Farms journey. This strategic investment underscores our dedication to leading the industry to ensure we meet the evolving needs of consumers.

Together, we are committed to scaling operations and enhancing access to sustainably grown produce.”

In addition to the greenhouse facility, the acquisition includes a 120-acre land bank, providing ample space for future expansion and innovation.

This land bank offers Mucci Farms the flexibility to adapt to market demands and explore new opportunities for diversification while maintaining its focus on bell peppers.

According to the press release from Mucci Farms, this acquisition not only bolsters their operational capacity but also reinforces their commitment to sustainable and innovative agricultural practices.

The integration of Hacienda North Farms into Mucci Farms is expected to yield significant benefits for both companies, their retail partners, and consumers, ensuring a steady supply of high-quality, sustainably grown produce.
