New site features online scavenger hunt, social media giveaway, and engaging activities to celebrate peak mango season
In celebration of National Mango Day, the National Mango Board (NMB) has unveiled a new website designed to enhance the online mango experience. The site is a comprehensive hub for mango enthusiasts, featuring interactive elements such as an online scavenger hunt and a limited-time social media giveaway with gold, silver, and bronze-level prizes. The upcoming summer games inspire these activities, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.
Dan Spellman, the director of marketing for the National Mango Board, expressed his enthusiasm about the new site and its engaging features. “We’re bursting with excitement to unveil our innovative website and celebrate National Mango Day with such a fun and interactive activation,” he stated. He highlighted that it is the peak mango season, making it the perfect time to enjoy the diverse flavors of fresh mangos. The website aims to bring the joy of mangos to fans through various gamification elements.
The core attraction of the new website is the online scavenger hunt and social media giveaway, designed to mirror the tiered prize structure of the summer games. Participants are encouraged to explore the website and discover its hidden features, such as the “Find Your Mango Match” quiz, the “Set the Table” game, and the ability to create a personalized collection of mango recipes. Successful completion of the scavenger hunt enters participants into a draw for prizes inspired by the summer games podium. Prizes include Mango.org-branded pickleball sets, Instacart gift cards, color-changing cups, kitchen utensils, and exclusive swag bags filled with mango-themed items. The social media contest runs from July 22 through July 29.
In addition to the online activities, National Mango Day celebrations include a variety of delicious mango recipes, fun trivia, and engaging augmented reality (AR) filters available on Instagram Stories. These features are designed to add a touch of mango magic to any celebration, highlighting the versatility and flavor of the fruit.
As stated in the press release, the National Mango Board’s vision is to elevate mangos from an exotic fruit to a staple in every U.S. household. This effort is part of their broader mission to increase awareness and consumption of mangos in the U.S. market. The board, supported by assessments from both domestic and imported fresh mangos, works to promote the nutritional benefits and delicious taste of mangos. A single serving of mango, which is about ¾ cup, provides 70 calories, 50% of the daily value of vitamin C, 15% of folate, 15% of copper, 8% of vitamins A and B6, and 7% of daily fiber.
The new website and the National Mango Day initiatives are part of the board’s ongoing efforts to highlight the health benefits and tropical flavor of mangos. For more information about the National Mango Board and to explore the new website, visit Mango.org.
National Mango Day and the launch of the new website underscore the NMB’s commitment to celebrating and promoting the mango. By offering engaging and interactive experiences, the board hopes to inspire more people to enjoy this nutritious fruit and discover its many uses and benefits.
