NVY Apples Transition to Fresh Imports Following Record-Breaking U.S. Sales

NVY Apples Transition to Fresh Imports Following Record-Breaking U.S. Sales

Amidst soaring demand and exceptional quality, ENVY apples maintain their top premium status as they shift to fresh imports for the new season.

ENVY apples, a top premium apple brand in the United States, is shifting its supply to fresh imports, primarily from New Zealand, over the next few weeks. This transition follows a highly successful holiday season and robust spring sales, with the brand experiencing double-digit growth compared to the previous year. The latest crop of U.S.-grown ENVY apples sold out at an unprecedented rate, highlighting the brand’s popularity among American consumers.

Vince Lopes, Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales & Marketing for T&G Global, stated, “This has been one of our most successful seasons to date despite the significant increase of Envy volume over and above the prior season. It’s a testament to the excellent quality produced by a distinctly chosen group of Washington growers, and U.S. consumers seeking ENVY apples out for their highly popular balance of sweetness, texture, and aroma. Simply put one apple has it all.”

According to the press release, the record-breaking sales underscore the preference for ENVY apples among shoppers, even in a year when the overall Washington apple crop increased by over 30% in total production. Despite the market being flooded with apples, consumers consistently chose ENVY apples for their unique qualities.

The new season’s import crop has started to arrive in the U.S., offering the same impeccable blend of sweetness, crispness, and aroma that makes ENVY apples a favorite. Lopes emphasized that these apples are not only perfect for eating on their own but also ideal for baking applications, including popular Fourth of July apple pies. Additionally, T&G Global offers a variety of fresh recipes designed with summer in mind on their website and through other digital platforms.

Highlighted recipes for the season include the ENVY Apple Glow Up Salad, Sparkling ENVY Water, and Smoky Bourbon Grilled ENVY Apples with Brown Sugar Glaze. The natural longevity of ENVY apple slices, which remain white for longer periods, makes them perfect for summer charcuterie spreads and dishes like the Elegant ENVY Apple Cheese Board.

ENVY apples have maintained their position as the best-selling premium apple brand for the past 52 weeks ending May 18, 2024, according to Nielsen 1.

T&G Global, the company behind the ENVY brand, has a rich history dating back over 125 years. Initially known as Turners and Growers, T&G Global now operates in 13 countries, working with over 1,200 growers to market, sell, and distribute fresh produce to consumers in more than 60 countries. Their commitment to kaitiakitanga reflects their dedication to treating the land, people, produce, resources, and community with the utmost respect and care.

The ENVY apple, a registered trademark owned by T&G Global, was developed in New Zealand and patented in 2009. Grown under license in prime apple-growing regions across the globe, including North America, South Africa, Australia, and Europe, ENVY apples have become an international success story with increasing demand worldwide. In the U.S., ENVY apples are marketed by Oppy, CMI Orchards, and Rainier Fruit Co.
