Side Delights Rolls Out Fresh-Cut Potato Fries for Healthier Cooking at Home

Fresh Solutions Network’s new A Cut Above® steak-fries and wedge packs deliver pre-cut, never-frozen potatoes with oven-bake or air-fryer directions, bringing restaurant-style French fries and their full nutritional punch straight to the produce aisle

Fresh Solutions Network® (FSN) has rolled out a retail-ready solution for home cooks who crave restaurant-style French fries but want a healthier preparation: Side Delights® steak-cut fries and potato wedges, available nationwide beginning April 23, 2025.

By pairing its fresh-cut A Cut Above® potatoes with oven-bake and air-fryer instructions, the Newport Beach, CA marketer says shoppers can replicate food-service “house-made” fries in minutes while controlling fat and sodium.

French fries remain America’s favorite potato dish an online round-up of 23 classics recently ranked them No. 1 yet they still battle a “junk food” image.

FSN’s latest pitch flips that narrative, positioning fries as a nutrient-dense side when they start with whole potatoes and are cooked with minimal oil.

The company’s strategy hinges on convenience.

Cutting perfect batons at home is tedious, so the brand’s refrigerated A Cut Above packs arrive pre-washed, pre-cut, and “fresh, never frozen,” in one-pound pouches of steak fries or wedges eliminating prep while preserving texture that frozen alternatives lose.

Nutritionally, FSN underscores that potatoes supply complex carbohydrates, potassium, vitamin C, and fiber all for just 110 calories per 5.3-ounce serving.

Those nutrients, coupled with a top-rated satiety index score, help diners feel full on fewer calories than many processed snacks.

“Potatoes in any form are getting recognition for their nutritional value, satiety, and mealtime flexibility, and with the focus on healthy preparation … house-made steak fries and potato wedges are big foodservice trends. Side Delights® makes preparation super simple with A Cut Above fresh-cut potatoes. They are fresh, never frozen, and unlike anything else you can buy at the grocery store.”

Kathleen Triou, FSN president and CEO

FSN also calls out the shortcomings of so-called “better-for-you” fry substitutes.

A five-piece serving of tempura-battered green beans delivers roughly 260 calories and 15 grams of fat, the company notes, whereas the same weight of oven-baked potato fries clocks in at 110 calories, zero fat, and five times the potassium plus 30 percent of the daily value for vitamin C.

Independent nutrition experts echo the importance of cooking method.
