Sun World Expands North American Presence With Growing Licensee Community and Global Trade Show Engagement

As the licensee network expands, Sun World gears up to showcase innovation and strengthen partnerships at key international trade shows

Sun World International is expanding its influence in the global fresh produce industry by continuing to grow its network of partners. The company’s latest additions include renowned importers and marketers from different regions, strengthening its distribution across North America, particularly in the United States and Canada. These new partners will play a crucial role in delivering Sun World’s proprietary grape varieties to consumers.

The latest appointments include a mix of established industry leaders such as Courchesne Larose, Forever Fresh, Giumarra International, Tastyfrutti International, and Robinson Fresh. Courchesne Larose, a family-owned business in Canada that has been operating since 1918, brings over a century of experience in the fruit and vegetable sector. Meanwhile, Robinson Fresh, a division of C.H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest logistics platforms, is among the largest fresh produce providers globally.

In addition to these importers, California-based Fowler Packing has been appointed as a marketer. Known for its extensive farming operations that have been passed down through three generations since 1950, Fowler Packing will help bolster Sun World’s presence in the California market.

Four Star Sales & Four Star Fruit, another family-owned business, will serve as both an importer and marketer. Operating since 1987, they have specialized in table grape production, making them a valuable partner in distributing Sun World’s high-quality grapes.

The newly appointed companies will handle the distribution of Sun World’s exclusive grape varieties throughout the U.S. and Canada, sourcing from key regions such as Peru, Chile, Brazil, and South Africa. As stated in the press release, the imported varieties will include popular brands like AUTUMNCRISP®, APPLAUSE™, ADORA SEEDLESS®, MIDNIGHT BEAUTY®, and RUBY RUSH®, among others. These partnerships are expected to enhance the availability of both existing and newly developed varieties, ensuring that Sun World’s grapes reach a broad market.

“Sun World is proud to develop partnerships with companies that align with our vision and values,” said Zach Cason, North America licensing manager. “These partnerships will not only support the growth of our consumer brands but also maximize returns for our licensed growers.” This collaboration is part of Sun World’s strategy to continue expanding its footprint and delivering high-quality produce to a global audience.

The newly appointed licensees will also benefit from being part of Sun World’s wider licensee community. They will gain access to tools such as a licensee portal, marketing support, and regular e-newsletters that provide the latest updates on variety development and other relevant information. This support system is designed to help licensees navigate the market and ensure a seamless supply chain.

Sun World’s presence in the global market continues to grow, with the company actively participating in international trade shows to highlight its latest offerings. At Fruit Attraction, which takes place in Madrid from October 8-10, Sun World will join its recent acquisition, BioGold, to showcase its innovative table grape, stone fruit, cherry, citrus, and mango varieties. As part of its display, Sun World will feature late-season grape brands like AUTUMNCRISP®, Midnight Beauty®, and Scarlotta Seedless®. This event will provide an opportunity for Sun World to connect with industry partners and explore further collaborations.

Later in the month, Sun World will participate in the Global Produce and Floral Show hosted by the International Fresh Produce Association in Atlanta, Georgia, from October 17-19. Visitors to the event will have the chance to sample Sun World’s popular grape varieties and learn more about the company’s commitment to innovation and quality in the produce industry.

Founded in California, Sun World International is known for its role as a leader in variety development and licensing.
