Revamped Program Includes New Employee Scholarship, Awarding 37 New Scholarships and Renewing 73 Previous Ones
Taylor Farms, North America’s leading producer of ready-to-eat salads and fresh healthy foods, has announced its latest contribution to the educational advancement of its community. The company awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships to this year’s recipients through its annual scholarship program, marking a significant investment in the future of young scholars and employees.
This year, the scholarship program saw a revamped format with the introduction of the Employee Scholarship, alongside two other existing categories: The Extraordinary Scholarship and The Innovative Scholarship. A total of 37 new scholarships were awarded, reflecting Taylor Farms’ commitment to supporting diverse educational pursuits.
The Extraordinary Scholarship, aimed at students attending four-year universities, was awarded to 25 exceptional individuals. The Innovative Scholarship, tailored for junior college and trade school students, saw seven recipients. Meanwhile, five Taylor Farms team members received the newly established Employee Scholarship to aid their continuing education.
Since its inception in 2008, Taylor Farms has distributed $4.1 million in scholarship funds to 281 outstanding students, underscoring the company’s dedication to fostering educational growth. Bruce Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “We are honored to continue to support our team members and their families in their educational journeys. By investing in education and the academic aspirations of our communities, we are building the foundation for continuous opportunity. Congratulations to this year’s winners.”
Taylor Farms collaborates with the Community Foundation for Monterey County to streamline the application and award distribution processes. Scholarships are designed to provide ongoing support, with recipients receiving an upfront check and the potential for annual renewal as long as they remain enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. In addition to the new awards, Taylor Farms granted 73 renewal scholarships to students who had received scholarships between 2021 and 2023, ensuring continued support for their academic endeavors.
The scholarship program, deeply rooted in Taylor Farms’ values, extends financial support not only to students in the broader community but also to the families of their own employees. As stated in the Produce BlueBook report, Rachel Molatore, Director of Communications at Taylor Farms, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the program: “This is one of my favorite days of the year. We are thrilled to host several of our team members and their families every year to celebrate this important achievement and expand this valuable program in our community.”
Taylor Farms, headquartered in Salinas, California, also known as “The Salad Bowl of the World,” continues to lead the industry in quality, innovation, sustainability, and food safety. With production facilities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering fresh, healthy foods while supporting the academic growth of its community.
