Titan Farms Revives Eastern Peach Exports to Mexico After a Decade

Titan Farms has made a significant stride in international trade by exporting its first shipment of peaches to Mexico last week. This marks the first time eastern peaches have been sent to Mexico since 2014, signaling a renewed era of cross-border fruit trade and opening new economic opportunities for both nations.

The success of this export is largely attributed to Reveam’s USDA-approved phytosanitary treatment known as Electronic Cold-Pasteurization (ECP). This technology, utilized at Reveam’s Rio Grande Valley ECP Center in McAllen, TX, is a post-harvest solution that sterilizes pests and eliminates bacteria and molds that can compromise food quality. Titan Farms’ compliance with this rigorous standard highlights the company’s dedication to providing top-quality produce while meeting global regulatory demands.

Chalmers Carr, CEO and President of Titan Farms.

“This momentous occasion represents a culmination of our team’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence,” said Chalmers Carr, CEO and President of Titan Farms. “We are thrilled to be pioneers in revitalizing the export of eastern peaches to Mexico and to introduce Reveam’s ECP as a benchmark for quality assurance in fruit trade. This achievement underscores Titan’s role as a global leader in the fresh produce industry.”

The successful export not only broadens the reach of Titan’s premium produce but also demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and adherence to international standards. According to the press release, this development opens new avenues for collaboration and trade between Titan and Mexican markets, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship.

The history of peach exports from the eastern United States to Mexico has been fraught with challenges, particularly due to regulatory restrictions imposed in 1994 over concerns about pests and diseases. However, through extensive collaboration between regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders, comprehensive protocols for ECP have been established, addressing these concerns and facilitating safe and sustainable trade practices.

Titan’s milestone is expected to generate considerable interest within the agricultural and international trade sectors. The company invites stakeholders, media outlets, and consumers to celebrate this achievement and anticipates further collaborations that promote the exchange of high-quality agricultural products across borders.

Founded in 1999 by Chalmers and Lori Anne Carr, Titan Farms has grown to become a leading producer of fresh fruits, committed to delivering premium-quality produce to markets worldwide. Titan Farms is now the largest peach grower on the east coast with over 6,200 acres of peaches, 600 acres of bell peppers, 1,000 acres of broccoli, and 36 acres of eggplant. The family-run operation is dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and excellence, setting industry standards and creating value for customers, partners, and communities.
